One man's harem pant is another's tight trouser

Pls watch. I am technologically challenged and therefore cannot upload it to the page.

I appreciate the message of this e-mail but it makes me somewhat angry. Generally I get this 'ah you have no problems' statement and it annoys me because you don't know what my problem is and how it disturbs me, you cannot tell me how I feel. Hence my rant about this video.

Ok so its sad that there is poverty and 'real' suffering in the world and these unfortunate people have to go through it, however why make me feel bad about my own life and my own woes??

Various examples in that video are just annoying...e.g

The road/transport system thing; Yes I will complain about my transport system because it is shit and I have the right to as well, why should I care whether they have roads in Indonesia or not, if I lived there I would probably complain about their transport system too. And I can bet they are complaining about the fact that they have to go over whatever that bridge is...at least they are not swimming across...

What is my point?? That I am tired of people and the world making the West and people that are comfortable, uncomfortable about their lives. I am not saying that you should not feel sympathy towards 'our brothers and sisters' material problems or that we should not be thankful for our lives; what I am saying is- please do not beat me over the head with their problems and make me feel guilty for having my own problems. There is a huge difference between making one feel guilty and pointing out objectively why one's problem can be solved...

As my title implies, one man's major headache is another's minor bruise...pain but not in the same variation and that's how life is in my opinion...

Rant over!

Case of the EX

Err I like that song!!hence the title!! So as I was perusing blogsville today(instead of typing SFP presentation!), I read sugarking's post, and it is the inspiration for today's blog!!

I think exes are useful, well the ones that are! There are some exes that add no value to your life or even theirs hence they are delete button worthy!! I disagree that you cannot move on while an ex is still in your life, move on to where, like in a new relationship??Its difficult not impossible!
So I am now going to write 4 reasons why your ex should not be deleted permanently and I hope I will be able to convince you and not confuse you(err yeah I miss primary school debates...good morning my panel of judges, accurate timekeeper(hahahaha)...Ok I digress!)

1. Your ex is part of your network...I left this comment on the post! In life there will come a time when you will need to know someone who does something and yes you can make new friends etc but how much easier would it be if it were an ex that you kept in touch with!I realise that if it was a bad break-up, then this won't work(pls take that with a pinch of salt because old grudges can and do die!) but assuming it wasn't, it won't kill you to say the occasional happy birthday, merry xmas and the once a year OMG I haven't heard from you in ages conversation! Old feelings don't have to come back just because there is a little attention being given!

2. You may want to get back together and this isn't such a bad thing. If you feel that a break-up was necessary to help you realise that you should be together, the delete button can kill the hope! and we wouldn't want that would we!! Also the best romance for me is the problematic and drama-filled one!!!The happy times are always so happy and genuine *dreamy eyes*!!

3. Sex with the ex can be a good thing! If you're single and a girl, sex with your ex makes you feel less 'hoeish' because you've done him before so nothing new! For the boy, it means you don't have to convince her that its not just sex and you really like her! There is always a kind of understanding that lacks the complication that comes with sleeping with a new person. *shrugs shoulders* I may be wrong!! If you're not single however, err you shouldn't sex with an ex unless one partner is a virgin (personally, I believe it is unfair to make a boy/girl who is sexually active inactive because they are dating you who is a virgin!- *shrugs shoulders*, my moral compass is lacking!)

4. Keep an ex especially if the person can be objective...so yes, the job of a consultant is useful! Sometimes we're so wrapped up in the new relationship, we cannot look at things objectively...and an ex is who points it out because he/she can! Your friends(current ones) may not be able to do so for fear of offending you or bursting your bubble of euphoria but an objective ex just says it and sometimes we need that!

Ok so these are the only reasons I could come up with and they have been inspired by various situations around me and my closest friends.

Peace, love and your ex can be your friend!

The Africa we want to see

Two blogs in a row...i'm on a roll!!(pls don't judge me, I just really wanted to write that)

Ok so I am writing a corruption report at the moment and so I have been reading loads of randomness on corruption and development etc. A few posts ago, I wrote about how ignorance is killing the West and they need to look past the Africa they see in the media. No doubt, the media does not show affluent Africa and the goodness it has and therefore there is a biased view. I still stand by that...Africa the continent does have its pluses... However having read all these things I have read (and might I add that quite a number of them have been written by Africans so let's not jump and say that it is still from the Western eye), I have come to the conclusion that no one sees Africa correctly...we are all biased and need to be more open-minded...again Tolerance is key!!

I hate the media showing those kids who don't have water, I hate campaigns for African aid, ***at one point I stopped buying volvic water because it had that for every bottle 10p or whatever goes to Africa.
I have never seen this Africa to be honest, I have grown up in relative affluence and have gone to good schools and so have my friends. But I should not deny that it exists, the Africa in the media exists more than we Africans like to admit. Corruption has riddled our governments and therefore affluence is not necessarily pure...we see wealth and some of it is not even ours...it is stolen from the Africa the media shows. Did you know that Idi Amin titled himself His Excellency, President for Life,Field Marshal Al Hadji Dr. Idi Amin, VC, DSO,MC, Lord of all the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea, and Conqueror of the British Empire in Africa in General and Uganda in particular...what sort of mad man was he to name himself this...he is the Africa I never saw or thought possible...I knew he was bad but for me this title is the height of the madness...I know not all our leaders are like this but many of our leaders are half-baked mad men who have stolen or bought power through democratic elections...they are the Africa we don't want to accept exist but they do...

If the logic behind showing Africa the way it is shown is to get us to do something about the state of our countries/continent then it is a good way of raising awareness, if this isn't the logic, I still Hate the Africa they show because it is not just lions running about the streets, people with no clothes or shoes, no electricity, no water,no education...It is more than that, it is a mix just like the rest of the world of bad and good...

Awkwardness galore

I don't know why the hell my title is that, I just thought I should write that!!! Anyway I am blogging about conversation fillers and why they annoy me...well sometimes...I however will not doubt that they are conversation savers...and I have used them but they still annoy me...

1. LOL, LMAO, ROTFLMAO: These particularly irk me...especially when there is nothing to lol about...like seriously why are you loli-ing or lyao, why?? people always say it when there's nothing else to say...In recent times, I have been socially inept so I have asked, 'why are you lol-ing' or rudely put, what's funny?? I apologize now though...actually I'm really not sorry...if you think something deserves a smile if you were conversing in real life...say ismile or send a smiley face or say cute...not lol...

2. Are you serious??: Seriously, I am serious hence I told you what I told you, asking me won't really change that! For example,
'how are you?'
'I'm fine, o',
'are you serious??'
No I just said I was fine because I like to answer questions the right way!!like are you serious??

3. Err,hmm: Ok I am most guilty of this, but it is actually life-saving and I find it more intelligent sounding than LOL but still why are you hmmm-ing??

4.Seen: OMG, if anything irks me more than LOL it is 'seen'...seen what?I never use this word actually, its a big no no, like it really is!!seen...eew...

5. DUH: especially when used in the wrong context, OMG, it hurts...it really does...My aunty used it wrongly and the only restraint I had from slapping her, was the thought that she is my aunty...otherwise I would have.
I said 'O aunty when did you get her',
she answered 'duh, i've been here since'...
I was like so why the hell did you say 'duh'***in my head that is!!

Ok so rant over, should anyone have any other suggestions on what fillers annoy you feel free to say so...

Peace, love, and no to bad convos (also I really need to find a slogan)
