Words make my heart melt...

Was going through some random stuff and came up with this list of words/sentences(I love words, they mean so many things to me) that should make anyone's heart melt...Some cheesy, some funny and others you can see the truth in them...
***Sometimes words speak louder than actions!

1. You are my perfect match, if my perfect lady is not you then I do not want perfection.

2.Don't really care who the dude is I just don't want to see you hurt.

3.I quit smoking, and this time I'm serious I want to be able to be around 30yrs from now and still be with you.

4.I can no longer do the best thing I love to do with you I'll always be there for you whenever you need me.

5.Met this chick and for some absurd reason I actually like her as in I really listen when she talks like I do with you. That can only mean bad things.

6.In conclusion (since this email is as long as the essay) I miss you..., and as always you still run through my mind as often as the the subway runs through London

7.PS hope you think about me every day because I think about you every second of everyday in every way (what the **** am I saying you make me say stupid shit)...

I love being a girl because you always hear things like this and I love boys for saying these things even if sometimes they don't mean it or even realise the gravity!

PS: I was reminded by my pweetybambi, you should check out her youtube channel that its pink month i.e. breast cancer awareness month so pls pls pls, check yourself...CANCER IS REAL!and for the men, sorry this is a girly girl blog!!

Peace, love, words and beat cancer!

Blackberry(s)

Ok quick blog! My friend burramint sent me this picture of 16 blackberry(s) at a dinner table in Lagos.

I went to the link and there was a debate(quite a meaningless one) going on about whether we(Nigerians) are monkeys or not for following the bb craze... I was offended by this to say the least because the argument would have been OK if the arguer(i know its not a word) had not said

This is so interesting. What does this REALLY mean? The fact that every Lagocian has a bb. It's true what they say, we're all monkeys.

First, not EVERY LagoSian has a bb, my mum doesn't have one alongide most of her family members, I can bet that my burramint's mum doesn't have one because they really don't care! I HATE when people write/talk and they say everyone(ok I do it as well but I loathe myself when I'm talking generally and not specifically about the people I know)...This arguer(as pa the guy above), is generally speaking about Lagos and its 9 million people and essentially saying that 9 million people possess blackberries in Lagos...REALLY??REALLY?? OF COURSE NOT! He then goes on to describe us as monkeys, really! This is why Darwin's theory of evolution is still accepted if we are going to compare ourselves and human(ess) to monkeys...ok well he used it as a metaphor but it's a stupid one, there are better ways of showing people following one another...cows, flies, bees even, lions, birds or just say that we follow!

I find that it says something about us as a people. I don't think most Europeans exhibit the same character.

His argument would be OK if he DID NOT put that whole European thing, like WTH??Have you ever been on the bus 10 or any bus going to the city(London) or the tube lines that run through the city or an ACS meeting, there are at least 7 blackberries in every corner. The device is a world craze, its not just in Nigeria. As usual, Nigerians like to be important and feel that they and they only use this and OMG we are such monkeys. Let's not lie, the whole world is connecting to the BB craze and we are just making our mark in world crazes...I can't even agree that a European or a Westerner generally, (because I can bet my bottom dollar that by European, he means the rest of the world that is White(not Asian...Caucasian)would not have taken this picture as well. It is normal to be fascinated by the fact that people have exactly the same phone but come on,its actually normal that this happens its not like we intend on buying the gold prada or that blackberry or nokia will make a phone personally for you that no one will have; we own mass produced devices(mass meaning for the very many people). No one really cared when it was nokia 3310s or even E71s, so why the blackberry, its just another mobile phone and another way for someone to make money...simple...I don't see the issue at all...

I hate pseudo-intellectuals because there was no debate here, there was no deeper meaning, personally all I see is the fams that owning a blackberry causes which is why the picture was sent to me in the first place. Not because 'we are monkeys' or our 'European counterparts' would not do the same.

Rant over and I am late for my lesson!

Alone??????

SO they other day, I suddenly felt like I was alone in this world...well definitely in my room and inside my head(with hindsight, I realise the I was just PMSing). Anyway so I cried and watched one tree hill and cried some more then read some corruption papers, wrote the corruption blog(that I will by the way finish when I feel inspired to complete it again)...Did all of that and felt the need to talk to someone so I wanted to call my friend...picked up the phone and couldn't think of anyone I really wanted to talk to...probably because I wasn't going to feel less alone and I actually didn't really want to talk. That's when I realised that I like being alone well not all the time but I was cheerier than when I was feeling alone after I watched one tree hill!!!

This isn't actually what I wanted to blog about but I somehow managed to write all this down... I was actually going to write that I really really really miss my friends...like the ones I can sit and smell with...and fart and burp loudly(yes I am disgusting)... and fall asleep while talking to(its a trademark alongside my hot mess hair)...and I can cook for and they always LOVE it even if I know they are eating out of love!!

I miss one especially because she is not here with me as usual and no matter how annoying and judgemental I find her, she is still my friend and she has been through some alone time with me. Its funny because I had cut her off in my mind but then not really because I do care about her and can make space for her even if I don't feel I should.
I miss Bod, I don't really know why but I wish he were here to annoy me and be silly. I miss Sima she makes me laugh with her ditzy american-girl comments and I miss our drive-to-the-local-market, dance in the car while parked badly thereby causing traffic without realising moments.
I miss Sabi wabi because I just miss her and I don't really know why I just know that I wish we could bitch about bitchables, fall asleep while bitching about bitchables, hate on those who we hate on, cook on the lowest budget ever, eat on the lowest budget ever, watch LOST followed by Dessy Housewives and maybe she'll like Skins when I make her an addict!!!, laugh at the most random and unfunny jokes, stalk people on facebook, laugh at pictures/comments/wall posts on facebook, do our nails and shop till we drop(and buy nothing really) and eat hot dogs.
I miss my wizshit mainly because I am tired of nandos and wagamams is only nice in wagamams not outside and H&M and Zara are way confusing on my own...now Bershka too!and Thorntons isn't the same if I don't steal her own chocolates...

Ok so rant over and I feel much better and I'm laughing at the stuff I just wrote...Love you guys a little
***DISCLAIMER: I will never admit in person or over the phone that I just wrote the above and posted it on the Worldwideweb...It is also not a romantic declaration of love for any of you!!!!!!!

Corruption+Stalking= Summer

**As we know, I like to blog with pictures, I can't find the picture for bad service, stalking in a bank...so the picture above was the best that came up...In a twisted way you can see a relation...money=bank, men=stalkers!!!(I'm in a man-hate mood!)

So early this summer, I thought I should open a bank account and so I did with a bank on Awolowo road(I would say the name of the bank, but I feel bad for them as this is negative publicity and they are getting enough as it is...*there's a hint people*) Anyhoo, so I opened my account and paid in some money at the cashier's desk. Don't actually know why but I filled in a book that asked for my name and phone number and I think bank account number(I'm guessing that's like a register to record incoming money). At about 7pm, I got the following text message...

"K,i intend 2 cal u nt 2 flash.bt d cash in my fone is less 2 talk 2u,sumtyn i jst wnt 2 chip in2 ur earin is dt ure lookn tek away, icnt wait 2 tel u ure beutiful.u came 2 lodge cash dis aftrnun @ *%PLC,d guy u paid 2 wn u came 2d bank is willin 2 av u as a pal. hope am welcom in2 ur world.Sahid"

The Problems with that text:

1. It is unethical to steal a customers number let alone contact them.

2. There is no confidentiality, which is scary because I am assuming that this moron would probably be able to access my account, passwords etc because he typed in my account number and the amount I paid in.

3. For a graduate( I assume he is as he works in the bank), his sentences are badly structured even for text language...what the hell does 'ure lukn tek away' mean?? I mean really??

The meaning of the text

1. Just another problem we need to deal with in Nigeria, the service sector. Service people need to be taught not to stalk their customers for fun. It is only acceptable(and I say this because I cannot think of a better word) if a person is psychologically challenged in which case he/she should be put away.

2. The fact that I did not reply or report shows that there is something wrong with me, because I have given him the chance to do this again to someone else. He thinks it is normal and I can bet that he has gotten babes like this which reiterates my point about the state of mind of the Lagosian person being sick in some way.

3. Our literacy levels are still low, how a graduate cannot string a normal sentence is beyond me. It does not become our education system at all.

****I must say despite the creepiness and bad spelling, I was quite flattered mostly because I went to the bank in my pyjamas- meaning I am attractive straight out of bed...too mad for a babe mehn(Ok don't judge me, I want to believe what I just wrote!)

I will write the second part of this blog maybe today, maybe tomorrow but for now, I am hungry...

peace, love and NO to bad service

Manos Al Aire

No tengo armas para enfrentarte
Pongo mis manos, manos al aire
Sólo me importa amarte
En cuerpo y alma como era ayer

I have no weapons
I surrender
I put my hands in the air
I only want to love you with all I have
like yesterday. (Nelly Furtado-2009)

****I think these words are so true especially when a relationship any relationship is difficult...If talking and fighting are not making headway, surrender and stop fighting. Fights don't always help the situation, they only make it worse. People don't always listen, when they listen, they don't hear and if they don't hear its safe to assume that they cannot and will not understand so talking too can be a waste of time.
I have been out of touch for a while now and on my blog- back,I noticed that my friend juicegal was hurting(ps: i'm sorry I was not there)so this blog is for her, though a little late!I love you! My 'words of the wise' is that you Manos Al Aire when all fails and let actions take their own course...You can only love with all you have nothing more...

Peace, love and Welcome blog!(i'm un-original)

Missing MMNC already

Of to the motherland today and I may not be able to blog as often, I'll try though...I am leaving a list of things to do while I'm away and not blogging about nonsense!

1. Watch Aye o lo mo kan

2. Watch Risikat, its funny as hell!

3. Read Half of a yellow sun and purple hibiscus if you have not already done so-a review of the thing around your neck coming soon!

4. Listen to music from 10 years ago!

5. Buy a new pair of shoes

6. Learn a foreign language

7. Watch X-men if you haven't seen it!

8. Learn to bake

9. Fall in love(Oplala- if you did not go to school in Naij, it means the point is non-existent!)

10. Involve yourself in some volunteer work! especially volunteering with children, it is gratifying!

For want of something to do right now, I have written this blog!!!!I'm going to miss this though. I know I sound like there is no civilisation in Nigeria but the internet in our house is slower than a snail and I don't have the patience for it...
